What is StatsSchema Montenegro?
StatsSchema Montenegro is a demonstration of the StatsSchema platform - a white-label system for publishing public statistics as searchable, accessible data products.
This portal ingests official statistical data from the Statistical Office of Montenegro (MONSTAT) and other public sources, normalizes it into a consistent schema, validates it, and publishes it as:
- Searchable web pages with charts and data tables
- Publication-grade spreadsheet exports (delivered in licensed deployments, not on this public demo)
- A REST API with full documentation
- AI-powered question answering with source citations (coming soon — in private beta)
- Multilingual access (Montenegrin Latin, Cyrillic, English)

All data on this portal is sourced from official public institutions:

Data Processing
Extraction
Source files (Excel, CSV) are downloaded and parsed using deterministic methods. No AI is used for data extraction.
Normalization
Raw data is converted into a standard schema: one observation per row, with explicit indicator, time, geography, and unit fields.
Validation
Multiple validation passes check required fields, value ranges, duplicates, percentage sanity, year-over-year anomalies, and completeness.
Provenance
During ingest, our internal verified pipeline reconciles each value against its source file, sheet, and cell, keeping a cell-level audit trail. All transformations are logged.
